April 18, 2015 (WEEK 7, MLS Game #58)
7 p.m. ET (MLS LIVE)
Now separated into different conferences but once a vibrant postseason rivalry, D.C. United and the Houston Dynamo meet for the only time this season when the clubs clash Saturday evening at RFK Stadium. United saw their winning streak end but still were able to extend their undefeated run last weekend, hauled back into a late 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls in the nation’s capital. The Dynamo exploded for their biggest attacking output of the year last weekend, rolling to a 3-0 win against the Montréal Impact at BBVA Compass Stadium.

  • Perry Kitchen scored the first two-goal game of his career, but D.C. United were still hauled back into a 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls on Saturday evening at RFK Stadium. United have two wins and a draw since their only defeat of the season, at the Red Bulls on March 22.
  • The Dynamo exceeded their goal output for the entire season in one night, rolling to a 3-0 home win against the Montréal Impact on Saturday evening. The Dynamo had scored two goals total in their first five games; Giles Barnes’ opener in the Impact win was their first since March 21, and ended a 271-minute scoreless streak.
  • When United won 3-1 last Oct. 12 at BBVA Compass Stadium, it was their first victory in Houston in 12 meetings all time in league and cup play. The Dynamo had won 10 of the first 11 matchups there, with one draw.
  • United’s win last May 21 at RFK Stadium was their first against the Dynamo since the 2012 season. The Dynamo had won six of seven meetings in between, with one draw, including a victory and a tie in the 2012 Eastern Conference Championship.

Playoff rivals just a few years ago, the Houston Dynamo and Montréal Impact meet for the only time this season when the clubs face off Saturday evening at BBVA Compass Stadium. Both teams come into the game sitting at the foot of their respective conferences. The Dynamo are winless in their last four matches following a season-opening win, coming off a 1-0 defeat at Seattle Sounders FC. The Impact are winless in their three league matches, their last MLS game a 2-2 home draw with Orlando City SC that preceded their historic CONCACAF Champions League advancement.
  • The Dynamo were shut out for a third time in five matches in their 1-0 loss at Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday; they still have yet to allow more than one goal in any game this season. The Dynamo have now not scored in their last 259 minutes, currently the fourth-longest goalless drought in MLS.
  • The Impact will be playing their first league match since March 28 with the visit to Houston. They are still looking for a first league win, gaining their first point with their first goals in MLS play in a 2-2 draw at Orlando City SC last time out.
  • The visiting team has never won in the three-year history of the series between the clubs. The road team has come away with points just once – after a 1-1 draw at BBVA Compass Stadium in 2011.
  • The Dynamo have won the last four meetings between the teams in Houston in all competitions, including in the Knockout Round of the MLS Cup Playoffs in 2013. The Impact have won all four meetings all-time in Montréal.

8:30 p.m. ET (MLS LIVE)
Now a tussle for Western Conference positioning, the Houston Dynamo and the Colorado Rapids meet for the first time this year when the clubs face off Saturday evening at BBVACompass Stadium. The Dynamo return home off their first road trip of the year, playing to a 1-1 draw at the LA Galaxy last weekend. The Rapids are still looking for their first win and their first goal, following their scoreless draw with New York City FC at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park last Saturday.
  • The Dynamo extended their league undefeated streak vs. the LA Galaxy with a 1-1 draw Saturday evening at StubHub Center. The Dynamo haven’t lost a regular season game to LA since 2011.
  • The Rapids are still looking for their first goal in 2015 – but they have yet to take a loss, reaching a second scoreless draw of the campaign in their match with New York City FC in Saturday’s opener at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The Rapids saw their overall goalless streak stretched to 420 minutes, extending to last season.
  • The Rapids last lost to the Dynamo in league play in 2009, when the Dynamo took a 1-0 victory April 19 at Robertson Stadium. The Rapids have won four of the seven meetings since, with three draws.
  • The Dynamo haven’t won at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park since 2008, with the Rapids winning the last two meetings in Commerce City, including a 3-0 win last June 1 in the only meeting between the teams.
