Two Western Conference clubs looking to reverse recent skids meet on Viernes de Fútbol when the Colorado Rapids take on FC Dallas for a third time this season at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The Rapids have won just once in their last nine matches, winless in their last three games, after a scoreless draw with Real Salt Lake in their last league game. FC Dallas are concluding their five-game road swing riding a five-game winless streak, following their 3-0 defeat at Seattle Sounders FC in their last league game.
- The Rapids saw their winless streak extended to three games with their second shutout in that time in their last match, a scoreless draw with Real Salt Lake on June 7 at Rio Tinto Stadium.
- It’s the final match of a five-game road swing for FC Dallas – where they’ve gone winless in the first four with three losses, following the 3-0 defeat at Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday. FCD are winless in their last five games overall (0-3-2) and have not scored a goal in the last 283 minutes of league play.
- The teams are meeting for the third time this season. They played twice in a three-week span in April. The Rapids put an end to their long winless and goalless streaks with a dominant 4-0 win vs. FC Dallas on April 10 at Toyota Stadium; a late Nick LaBrocca goal for Colorado left the teams in a 1-1 tie April 24 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
- The Rapids have won just one of their last five home matches against FCD. The Rapids’ win in the first meeting this year was their first in Frisco since 2012, and ended a three-game FCD winning streak in the series.

- FC Dallas took the lead in the 32nd minute. Fabian Castillo sliced through the Rapids backline on a mazy dribbling run before dishing the ball to Mauro Diaz, who buried a low shot from the left side of the box for the opener.
- The match turned just before the hour mark. FC Dallas striker Blas Perez committed a foul away from the ball on Rapids defender Drew Moor, and referee Allen Chapman showed a red card.
- With the man advantage, the Rapids finally pulled even in the 79th minute. A long ball from Lucas Pittinari was sent through to Dillon Powers, and he headed goalward where Nick LaBrocca bravely charged in to touch the ball into the back of the net as he was clattered into by FCD goalkeeper Dan Kennedy.
