The Portland Timbers and Orlando City SC meet for the first time ever when the clubs face off in an interconference clash Sunday afternoon at Providence Park before an ESPN2 audience. The Timbers broke into the win column for the first time last weekend, knocking off previously undefeated FC Dallas 3-1 in the Rose City. Orlando City saw their current winless run stretched to three games with a second consecutive 1-0 loss in stoppage time on their home ground, falling to D.C. United last Friday at the Citrus Bowl.

• The Timbers put an end to their four-game winless run to start the season, storming to a 3-1 win against FC Dallas on Saturday evening at Providence Park.
• Center back Nat Borchers scored his first goal since moving to Portland from Real Salt Lake in the offseason. He has now scored goals in seven consecutive seasons and in eight of his 11 career MLS seasons.
• Orlando City SC hit the road with their winless streak now at three matches, following a second consecutive home game where they have conceded the only goal of the game in stoppage time, suffering a 1-0 loss to D.C. United on Friday evening.
• Orlando City has taken four of their five points on the road, following their season-opening draw against New York City FC with back-to-back losses at the Citrus Bowl.
