A pair of clubs looking to kickstart a drive up the standings in the second half of the season meet when Real Salt Lake play host to Columbus Crew SC on Saturday evening at Rio Tinto Stadium. Both teams sit with nearly identical records, just below the .500 mark, at the halfway point of the campaign. RSL return home following a 1-0 loss at the New York Red Bulls at midweek, while Crew SC put an end to their six-game winless run, also on Wednesday, in a 2-1 comefrom-behind home win against the New England Revolution.

• Federico Higuaín scored for a second consecutive game in Crew SC’s last league match, a 1-1 draw with the LA Galaxy in Columbus. Higuaín has four goals and two assists on the season, all coming since April 18.
• Olmes Garcia scored his first goal since Aug. 22, 2014, netting the late game-winner as RSL defeated Sporting Kansas City at Rio Tinto Stadium on Sunday evening.
• RSL’s 4-0 win vs. Crew SC on Aug. 24, 2013, in the last meeting at Rio Tinto Stadium, put an end to a three-game Columbus winning streak in the all-time series, RSL’s first victory since 2010.
• RSL have not won in Columbus in league play since 2006, Crew SC having won six consecutive home regular-season games in the series before the teams reached a 1-1 draw there last June 4 in the only meeting between the teams. But RSL did win the second leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinal Series between the teams in 2009 in Columbus, on their way to an MLS Cup title.
